I have already said before that I live in the middle of nowhere and have to drive to get anywhere, so for me this tip is a crucial one: combine trips.
When looking ahead at your week (or even just your day), make a mental list of all the errands you need to run. Then see which ones are on the same sides of town (or even in the same town in my case) and do all those on the same day instead of making separate trips out several times. Better yet, plan out your route as efficiently as you can so that you can drive the least amount as possible. In other words, instead of driving in circles, go from point A to B to C.
Doing this saves time, gas, and wear-and-tear on your vehicle. And we all know that saving money as well as the earth from pollution is both Green & Thrifty :)
